What You Need to Add to the Cornbread Mix
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup buttermilk (8 oz.)
- 2 large eggs
Baking Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
- Blend eggs and buttermilk in a mixing bowl.
- Stir in Cornbread mix.
- Melt butter in an 8 x 8 inch baking pan in the oven.
- Remove pan, swirl butter around to coat inside of heated pan.
- Stir the remainder of melted butter into the batter and pour into a preheated pan.
- Bake 18-25 minutes until firm on top and lightly brown.
- Tip: Generally, the heavier the pan the longer it should bake.
- Serve with chili or soup for supper or with butter and hot syrup for breakfast.
