These delicious breakfast biscuits are perfect right out of the oven.  Try the biscuits with butter, jams, jellies, fruit preserves, fruit spreads, or fruit butters.  Your family will beg you make them with scrambled eggs, cheese, and bacon for a scrumptious breakfast sandwich, especially for dinner. This Buttermilk Biscuit Mix also makes amazing chicken and biscuits or biscuits and sausage gravy - a real Southern staple.

 Recipe

• 1 Package Buttermilk Biscuit Mix
• 1/2 cup butter or shortening
• 3/4 cup whole buttermilk or whole milk

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Use a lined baking sheet with parchment paper or nonstick spray.

In a large mixing bowl, blend butter into the biscuit mix with a pastry blender or fork until the mixture reaches a crumb like consistency. 

Next, add milk to make a dough. Knead lightly, to mix only.  On a floured surface, roll out dough 1/2 inch thick.  Cut into 2 1/2 inch rounds and place on prepared baking sheet.

Bake until golden brown on top, about 10 to 12 minutes. Package makes 12-14 biscuits. The results make a delicious and uniquely southern type pan of biscuits.
