Cincinnati Style Sweet Chili Mix is a surprising blend of dark red kidney beans and onion, seasoned with traditional chili spices, and 2 unexpected additions, cinnamon and unsweetened chocolate. This makes a deliciously sweet chili with mild heat that can be prepared in just 45 minutes.

Homemade chili in only 45 minutes
Cooking directions
- In a 3 or 4-quart pot, brown the ground beef.
- Stir in the chili mix packet only. then, add all 5 additional ingredients needed for the chili as listed below.
- Next, bring to a boil. Then reduce heat to a simmer.
- Now, add the chocolate from the packet, cover, and cook for 45 minutes.
- Remember to remove the bay leaf before serving the chili with cornbread.
- Add cheddar cheese and sour cream to the top if you like.
- Makes about 6-8 servings.
Additional items needed to make the chili
- 2 pounds ground sirloin (or chuck or round)
- 1 can of tomato sauce (26-30 ounces)
- ½ cup barbeque sauce (sweet rather than smoky)
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
