Triton held a rod that, when the wind blew, pointed in the direction the wind was blowing. This Dog Copper Weathervane is made from a very old mold, originally designed in the late 1800s by A.J. Harris & Son's in Boston, MA. The mold is made of iron and just the parts for the body alone weigh 50lbs!! The mold is owned today, since 1940, by New England Weathervanes of Danvers, MA.
