How do I replace a mailbox on an existing post?  Once you remove the prior nails or screws from your older mailbox you will be able to start preparing the post to mount mailbox.

Please made sure the wood is not rotting or cracking.  If so, you will need to replace any of the damaged wood or potential replace the mailbox post.  This will also give you the ability to paint or stain your existing post.

After you have carefully examined your existing mailbox post, the next step is to predrill the holes for your new mailbox.  Make sure that you have lined the holes up, so they can fit exactly where you want to place your mailbox.

The final step is to attach your mailbox to the post with galvanized screws to secure mailbox to your post. The use of the galvanized screws will help prevent rusting and any future harm or wood root to your gorgeous mailbox.
