What is the difference between Jelly, Jam and Preserves?  Jam is made from mashed fruit, while Jelly is made from strained fruit juice. Jellies will not contain any pieces of fruit. So, our Jams have chunky fruit with seeds while our Jellies are seedless and have a smooth texture. The third type is called preserves. Preserves will actually contain large pieces of fruit or whole berries in each jar.
